Acceptable Use & AI Rules

SahiPlate is an AI diet compliance assistant. Photo checks, verdicts, swap suggestions, day plans and coach insights are produced by generative AI models (currently Google Gemini and OpenAI GPT, accessed via the Lovable AI Gateway). This page is the plain-English summary of the rules that govern how you use those features.

These rules supplement and form part of our Terms of Use (Sections 6 and 7) and our Privacy Policy. If there is any conflict, the Terms control.

1. Who Can Use the AI Features

You must be 18 or older and use a personal account.
You must be in a country that is not subject to a comprehensive US embargo.
You may use SahiPlate only for your own personal, non-commercial meal decisions.

2. What You May Submit

You may submit photos of your own meals, plates, packaged foods, restaurant dishes and grocery items, plus short text descriptions ("paneer butter masala with 2 rotis", "is this Jain-friendly?", etc.).

3. What You May Not Do With the AI Features

You agree not to use SahiPlate's AI features to:

generate or attempt to generate illegal content, including child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, terrorism or violent-extremism content, or any content that violates export-control laws;
create deepfakes, impersonations or misleading depictions of real people without their consent;
produce hate speech, harassment, threats, or content that incites violence or self-harm;
produce malware, exploit code, phishing content or other security-harmful output;
jailbreak, prompt-inject, or otherwise attempt to bypass the safety measures of the underlying models;
request medical, legal, financial, religious or other regulated professional advice and present the AI's response as such advice;
upload photos of other people (especially minors) without their consent, or any content you do not own or have the right to use;
scrape, crawl or use the AI features to build a competing product, training dataset or benchmark;
circumvent paywalls, rate limits, daily quotas or other technical controls;
submit content that infringes intellectual-property, privacy or other rights of any person.

4. Limits of AI Guidance

4.1 Compliance assistant, not a clinician

SahiPlate gives plate-level yes / no / swap guidance to help you stay consistent with a weight-loss eating pattern. It is not a doctor, dietitian, allergist, pharmacist, religious authority or therapist. Its outputs are general informational suggestions only.

4.2 AI can be wrong

AI image recognition and text generation can misidentify ingredients, miss hidden allergens (nuts, dairy, gluten, sesame, mustard, eggs, soy, shellfish), confuse similar-looking dishes, or generate plausible-sounding but inaccurate guidance. Always independently verify ingredients before eating — especially if you have allergies, intolerances, religious restrictions, are pregnant, or are managing a medical condition.

4.3 Not for emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, an allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts or any urgent health issue, stop using SahiPlate immediately and contact local emergency services or a qualified professional.

5. Your Inputs and Outputs

You own the photos, prompts and notes you submit (your "Inputs").
You grant SahiPlate a non-exclusive licence to process your Inputs to operate the Services, including sending them to our AI providers solely to generate your result.
To the extent AI Outputs are eligible for ownership, we assign them to you, subject to the rights of the underlying model providers and the limits in the Terms.
AI Outputs are not unique — similar Outputs may be produced for other users.
We do not sell your data and we do not use your Inputs or Outputs to train third-party foundation models.

6. Moderation, Suspension and Takedowns

We may at our discretion refuse to generate, filter, remove or restrict any content that we believe violates these rules, harms users, exposes us to legal risk, or breaches the policies of our AI providers. We may suspend or terminate accounts that repeatedly violate Section 3 or that infringe the rights of others.

To report a violation or send a takedown notice, email legalnotice@sahiplate.com with enough detail for us to investigate.

7. Reporting Bad AI Output

If a verdict, swap or coach insight is wrong, unsafe, biased, or otherwise problematic, please flag it from the meal detail screen or email hello@sahiplate.com. Your reports directly improve our prompts and safety filters.

8. Changes

We may update these AI Rules to reflect new features, models, regulations or abuse patterns. Material changes will be announced in-app or by email.
